Position Description: ABOUT CALGARY SKI CLUB
Calgary Ski Club (CSC) is Calgary's oldest, non-profit, recreational, volunteer-run ski club. CSC’s cross country ski lessons program for children is called “Jackrabbits.”

DESCRIPTION
Do you enjoy cross country skiing? Do you like teaching children? CSC is seeking enthusiastic people to be cross country ski coaches for our children’s program, called “Jackrabbits.” You will join a team of dedicated coaches. You will get to teach on a set schedule: most Saturdays from December 2016 to March 2017. The lessons will be in a variety of locations in Calgary and in the mountains, depending upon the snow conditions. CSC reimburses coaches for most coaching-related expenses. The club will sponsor your training - be ready to teach by this winter!

REQUIREMENTS:

1. You like teaching or working with children.

2. You have at least some experience cross country skiing and enjoy it. You do not have to be an expert.

3. You must become a CSC member, so that you are covered by insurance.

4. Pass the Police Information Check + Vulnerable Sector Search.

5. If you are accepted as a coach and pass the following required courses, then CSC will reimburse you for the cost of the following courses.

(a) Coaching Course: Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC)
- Description: Required for coaches of all age groups. This course specifically prepares you to coach the Bunnyrabbit age group (4-5 years old). Course date(s) TBA.

(b) Coaching Course: Community Coaching (CC)
- Description: Required for coaches of all age groups. This course specifically prepares you to coach the Jackrabbit age group (6-11 years old). Course date(s) TBA.
- Pre-requisite: ICC

(c) Standard First Aid + CPR-C Certification
- If you do not already have a current first aid + CPR certification, then select a course that fits your schedule before December
